Blogging 101: 3 Simple Ways to Write Must-Read Content
As a social media and content marketing company, one of the top questions that we’re often asked is, how can I write blogs that people will want to read? The answer is that it can actually be pretty simple as long as your blogging habits incorporate strategy and creativity. Here are three simple ways to write must-read content.

1. Answer FAQ’s in your blog.

Write for your audience by addressing their questions and solving problems. This may seem obvious, but a lot of times companies miss the mark when blogging because they are thinking about what they want to read versus what the customer would want to read. Write a list of questions that people often ask and also write a list of the problems that they most often come to you with. There’s a ton of content to be written there that will be extremely valuable to your customers.

2. Keep your blog content simple to read.

Blogging doesn’t have to be complicated and inundated with tons of technical information. It’s no secret that we live in a go, go, go, society where people want their information quick and easy. The easier you make it for you customer to read and scan your content, the better. Think of how you would explain something to them if they were in front of you. Bonus tip: Use your mobile phone to record yourself answer a hypothetical question or speaking about a particular topic to a customer. You can then listen to that and transfer it into the start of a killer blog article that your customers will appreciate.

3. Blog about trending stories.

One of the first rules of marketing is to monitor trends and run with it whenever possible. Why? Because that’s clearly something people are already interested in, reading about and talking about. For example, if there’s a hot news story that you can offer an expert opinion on or if your product or service could solve a problem related to the issue, that’s a perfect blog topic. In addition, make note of upcoming important dates and holidays (e.g., back to school) ahead of time in your content calendar so that you’ll remember to write an article that will tie into it. Be sure to put the trending topic right in the headline of your blog to grab attention from the get-go. Blogging regularly is not only a way to boost your search engine visibility, but also a way to connect with customers. Content is a major key in building online relationships and the king of search engine optimization. Would you like help blogging for you business? Check out our content marketing services.
