If you have a business, and you want to be successful, you are interested in making sales. No matter what industry you are in, making sales is what brings in money and ultimately keeps your business afloat. While there are many ways that you can go about completing this, one of those ways is to invest in your social media marketing. In this article, we will cover five tips to help you increase sales with social media marketing for your business.
According to
Hootsuite:
- 90% of brands use social media to increase their brand awareness, so if you aren’t, you’re already missing out to your competitors.
- There are currently 3.48 billion people on social media.
- 366 million of those started using it in the past year, which is more than a million a day.
- 40% of those people online use social networks to research brands.
These numbers alone should convince you that social media is an important part of your sales pipeline.
- Post Regularly and Be Consistent
Consumers are inundated with advertisements every day, online and in person. It’s easy to forget about labels and companies that aren’t in front of their face regularly. Therefore, it’s extremely important that you come up with a regular posting schedule to stay “top-of-mind” on users’ pages. Additionally, be consistent with your brand voice, style, and messaging. You want your customers to know how to look for you and what to ask for, so don’t cause any confusion with your branding on social media.
- Gain trust by NOT Selling All the Time
It may sound counter-intuitive, but you will have better luck with making sales by not always selling online. Digital consumers want to be entertained or educated; they don’t always want brands to be pushing products in their faces. With this in mind, earn your customers’ trust first by offering content that entertains or informs on your social media pages in addition to the content about your products. This may be educational blog posts or tips about your industry. The idea is that you are not just asking for their money every time your followers logon to their social networks, but you are also offering value.
- Make It Easy to Buy
How many times have you wanted to buy something online, but you just couldn’t figure out how to do it? If a social media user wishes to purchase a product from your social media post, make it super easy for them to do that. Either include a direct call-to-action such as “buy through this link” or direct them to the exact place where the products can be found. Be direct and don’t include extra steps to get to the sale.
- Switch Up Your Strategy
Online users get bored easily, so keep your followers engaged and excited about your brand by switching up the strategy you use to talk about your products. This could mean engaging with an influencer and rolling out a campaign with his or her followers, or doing a contest or giveaway on your social pages. Again, it comes back to gaining trust and providing value. How are you rewarding your followers and customers who follow your page? Make sure that they see something that grabs their attention each time they open the computer by showcasing different parts of your brand in new and exciting ways.
- Integrate Social Media Into Other Marketing Channels
You should not rely on social media alone to bring you sales, but you should use it as a wider net to cast on potential customers. Some of your customer base may still be “old school” and receive information better through email. Therefore, you should still use other methods of marketing that have worked for you in the past, but integrate social media into them as another way for your customers to learn about your company. Link from your email marketing to your social channels, and suggest that your clients follow you there for timely information on promotions and giveaways related to your brand. The more followers and subscribers you have, the better the opportunity you have for making a sale through a social media post!
